Prague/Zurich, 5.10.2022 — 5% of the most difficult negotiations is the theme of this year's international conference of world negotiators in Zurich. The keynote speakers are CNN International Business Correspondent Richard Quest, one of the fathers of the Harvard Negotiation Program William Ury or socio-psychologist and professor of the American Educational Institute IMD Jennifer Jordan. The official program of the conference will take place on Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7.
The Czech Republic is represented this year by two professional negotiators, Radim Parík and Adam Dolejš, both from Fascinating Academy, which focuses on executive education. Radim Parík, as an international strategic negotiator and member of the international organization Negotiation Club at the Schranner Institute, remains the only Czech to participate in the expert panel in the narrowest circle of world negotiators on the day before the official opening of the conference.
“Negotiation touches all areas of human life. As soon as I say I want something, I start negotiating. At the same time, the vast majority of negotiations take place peacefully, without much difficulty for both sides to come to an agreement. In the other five percent, negotiations can no longer be done without strategy and tactics. Therefore, it is a so-called strategic negotiation, which also includes crisis negotiations with kidnappers or suicides,” explains Radim Parík, founder of Fascinating Academy. “Together with experts from the FBI and law enforcement, the United Nations, business, sports and politics, we are defining new strategies and tactics. There is no theory, only proven strategies and tactics that can be immediately implemented in negotiations,” he adds.
Questa, Ury and Jordan will be joined by Matthias Schranner, founder of the conference organizing institute and one of the world's top negotiators, according to Forbes, former FBI special agent and FBI Academy instructor Phil Andrew, and leading negotiation instructor Scott Tillema, who focuses on adapting the hostage negotiation model to the business environment.
Fascinating Academy promotes negotiation as a field of study and science. More than 1,500 negotiators have gone through certification here in two years. One of them is Adam Doleyš. “In crisis negotiations, several basic rules apply. In addition to determining the team and choosing a strategy, it is the ability to naturally use different negotiating tactics,” explains Adam Dolejš and continues: “One of the most successful tactics is deep listening. Police negotiators confirm to us that in suicides, the police negotiator is the first person to actually listen to them. In business negotiations, everyone can try it on their own. Make a demand and be silent. You will see that the counterparty reacts in your favor. “
Adam Dolejš is a Czech businessman, founder of a language school and internationally certified negotiator and negotiation coach. In negotiations, he accompanies cases with a value of almost 300 million Euros and teaches top negotiators in their fields, such as Shell and Billa. In addition to his negotiation training at Fascinating Academy, he is a graduate of the Bargaining Program at Harvard University and IMD in Switzerland.
In his lifetime, Radim Parik has successfully negotiated more than 2,000 contracts worth tens of billions of crowns. He attended FBI negotiation training and negotiation programs at Harvard and the University of St. Gallen, at the Schranner Institute, and under the guidance of George Kohlrieser at IMD University in Lausanne. He lectures at Tomáš Bata University in Zlín.
