Prague Castle Hosts First Negotiation Conference
Prague, 13 October — Yesterday's conference “The Key of Communication” brought leading figures of negotiation and communication to the representative premises of Prague Castle. The guests of this exceptional event had the opportunity to hear the contributions of the speakers in the first part, and subsequently participate in training sessions with Radim Parik, Anne-Martje Oud and the most famous FBI agent Joe Navarro. Both Annemartje Oud and Joe Navarro are members of the Negotiators Association. The conference was sold out, with just over two hundred interested people attending it.
After the opening conversation of the President of the Association of Negotiators Radim Parik with the Chancellor of the President, Mrs. Jana Vohralíková, the first speaker of the Klíč Communication conference was the successful manager Michal Daniel. The HR and legal member of NOTINO's Board of Directors spoke primarily about his experience in managing people and the key factors behind the successful expansion of this largest European e-shop for cosmetics and perfumes.
Joe Navarro, a world leader in nonverbal communication, talked about the secrets of body language in another post. This former elite FBI negotiator and author of many books is linked to the Czech Republic by a Czechoslovak communist agent who was exposed in America by Navarro. “The agent was convinced that he had done everything well, that he had thought through every step. Yet we exposed him. Americans wear bouquets of flowers up, while Czechs wear flowers down,” explained Joe Navarro. On the mystery of body language, for example, he stated: “It is often taught in universities that we perceive first what we see and then the content of what we hear. In fact, immediately behind the visual perception there is a sound sensation, and then only the content of the uttered. “
Following Joe Navarro, Radim Parík took the microphone and explained how important ego management is in discussions. “If you go into discussions with people saying you're better, that you know better, you're shooting completely beside yourself. You get into your own ego tunnel where you can't hear or see. You have to go into the discussion in a setting that you want to hear what they tell you,” the president of the Association of Negotiators revealed at an expert conference.
He was followed by the conference's second foreign star, Anne-Maartje Oud. This Dutch expert in conflict resolution and escalation creates individual development programmes for top managers of the world's most successful companies such as Google, Mercedes Benz, BDO and Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy. “In communication, it is important that we first master ourselves, to look at how and which situations affect us. Only then can we assess the situation and plan the next steps,” Anne-Martje Oud said in her presentation.
The conference had one more dimension. It was attended by two teenagers from the Summer Business Camp of the ZET Foundation, Lukáš and Diana. “The topic of communication led us to the idea of doing a podcast with interviews with other camp participants. With those who are newly coming to it to reveal what they expect and those who have already been through it to share their experiences. And also to reveal something about their destinies,” Diana says with Luke.
“We are grateful that the world's leaders in communication and negotiation, Joe Navarro and Anne-Martje Oud, took the time in their busy schedule to come to Prague in person and share very valuable knowledge and experience. It was an exceptional event that everyone who is interested in communication and its top discipline of negotiation could attend,” said Radim Parik, president of the Association of Negotiators, for the organizers.
The Conference “Key to Communication” is organized by the Association of Negotiators with Expert Board 21 and Bubnov Agency. Radim Parík is currently the most famous professional negotiator in the Czech Republic. He is also the author of the popular science bestseller “The Art of Negotiating Anything” and, as the only European, to be the co-author of the emerging book “Empathic Leadership of People” by Chris Voss, author of one of the world's best-selling books on negotiation, “Never Compromise.”
