How Negotiators Are Educated
Negotiation is an art based on scientific knowledge. It is possible to study it and deal with it at a professional level. You must constantly evaluate the negotiations and constantly advance and expand your knowledge.
Still, many people in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia think that negotiation is an intuitive affair. A skill that you can do on your own and do not need to train it. However, west of our borders, in Switzerland, France or the United States of America, negotiation has become a university discipline, so you can study in it for many years.
Harvard Law School developed a bargaining program back in the early 1980s. It was founded by Professors William Ury and Roger Fisher.
Negotiation, as a field of science, has over time transferred from the United States to Europe. Crisis teams — police negotiators, crisis negotiators, and secret security service negotiators — gradually intensified their use of methodologies and theoretical procedures and began to abandon the Harvard concept. In the meantime, it has changed in a major way.
Today it is no longer just an ideological tool. When you choose to study negotiation at Harvard, you will learn very similar techniques, tactics, and procedures that Mossad or FBI crisis and strategy negotiators are trained and trained in. Likewise, you can learn different negotiating concepts in Switzerland at IMD or Sankt Gallen universities.
You will learn to negotiate in a crisis situation, work with emotions, converse with complex personalities. You can also learn a new Harvard concept or systemic negotiation. The fields of negotiation that university studies offer are many.
At the Negotiators Association, we bring together the world's best negotiators under one roof. They negotiate business, large acquisitions, company share sales, political international agreements, but also for human lives. The best are constantly being educated. They travel the world, attend universities, meet at negotiation workshops. They inspire each other and, most importantly, train together. The books are good. YouTube as well. Did you really learn to drive a car, ski, or play a musical instrument at a high level from a book and YouTube?
At the Association of Negotiators you will teach you how to negotiate and we will work with you to improve your negotiation skills. Just like we do with the best in the world.
At the basic level, the user is able to understand only the basic principles of negotiation, the skills are still being learned and have elementary experience. But they may also be afraid of failure.
